Privacy Policy
Effective 7 June 2026
Sketchopia ("Sketchopia", "we", "us", "our") is a creative learning app for children, owned and operated by Trishula Gamings Private Limited, a company incorporated in India. This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect when a parent or guardian sets up and uses Sketchopia for their child, how we use and protect it, and the choices and rights you have. It applies to the Sketchopia mobile app and to sketchopia.co.
Because Sketchopia is designed for children, accounts are created and controlled by a parent or guardian, and we rely on that adult's consent to process information about their child. Please also read our Terms of Service.
1. Who we are & how to contact us
The data controller (the company responsible for your information) is Trishula Gamings Private Limited, C3, MayaVihar, Sagarpur, New Delhi 110041, India. For any privacy question or request — including to reach our privacy / grievance contact — email contactus@sketchopia.co.
2. Our approach to children's privacy
Sketchopia is made for children roughly aged 3–10. Every account is created by a parent or legal guardian, who consents on the child's behalf and supervises their use. We have designed Sketchopia to follow children's privacy laws across the regions we serve, including the United States' COPPA, the UK Age Appropriate Design Code and UK GDPR, the EU GDPR, India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act 2023, Brazil's LGPD, Canada's PIPEDA, Australia's Privacy Act and Australian Privacy Principles, Singapore's PDPA, and the data-protection laws of the United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia.
In practice this means:
- We do not knowingly let children create or operate accounts on their own — a parent or guardian sets everything up.
- We do not show children behavioural or targeted advertising, we do not track them across other apps or websites, and we do not build advertising profiles of them.
- We collect only the limited information needed to run the learning experience, and never condition a child's participation on providing more than is necessary.
- Parents can review, correct or delete their child's information at any time (see “Your rights & choices”).
If you believe a child has given us information without a parent's consent, contact us and we will delete it.
3. Information we collect
Account information (from the parent)
Email address, a password (stored only in hashed form by our authentication provider), and your country / region.
Child profile information (entered by the parent)
The child's first name or nickname, age or age band, and a chosen avatar. We ask for age only to make the experience age-appropriate; we do not require a precise date of birth.
Content your child creates
Drawings, and the games, stories and lessons generated from them, plus saved creations and “fact book” entries.
Learning & usage data
Learning sessions, progress, stars and scores, streaks, and activity counts and limits.
Technical & device data
A device / session identifier (used to enforce the device limit and keep the account secure), app version, language / locale, and basic diagnostic and error logs.
Payment data
Subscriptions and in-app purchases are processed by the Apple App Store, Google Play and our subscription manager RevenueCat. We receive confirmation of your purchase and your subscription status — we never receive or store your full card or bank details.
We do notcollect precise location, your contacts, or your photo library, and we do not store recordings of your child's voice (see “Voice features”).
4. Voice features
Some learning activities ask the child to say a word aloud. Speech recognition and the spoken narration are handled by your device's operating system (Android or iOS). We use these built-in features to check pronunciation and read text aloud; we do not send or store recordings of your child's voice on our servers.
5. How we use information
- To provide, personalise and improve the learning experience, games and stories.
- To analyse a drawing and generate the matching game, story or lesson (see “AI processing of drawings”).
- To keep content age-appropriate and safe (content filtering).
- To manage profiles, sessions, device limits, free-tier limits and subscriptions.
- To maintain security, prevent abuse, and fix problems.
- To respond to your requests and provide support.
- To comply with our legal obligations.
Where the GDPR, UK GDPR or Brazil's LGPD apply, our legal bases are: performance of our contract with you; your consent (which you can withdraw at any time); and our legitimate interests in operating and securing the Service in a way that does not override you or your child's rights. For a child's personal data we rely on the consent of the parent or guardian.
6. AI processing of drawings
To turn a drawing into a game, story or lesson, the drawing image and basic context (such as the child's age band) are sent securely to our AI provider, Anthropic (the Claude API), which analyses the image and returns the generated content. This is necessary to deliver the core feature you asked for. Under our agreement with the provider, drawings sent for this purpose are processed transiently and are notused to train its AI models. We never use your child's content for advertising.
8. International data transfers
We operate from India and use service providers that may store and process data in other countries, including the United States and the European Union. When we transfer personal data across borders, we use appropriate safeguards — such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses (with the UK Addendum where relevant) or another mechanism recognised under the applicable law — so your data remains protected.
9. Data retention
We keep personal information for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the Service, after which we delete or anonymise it. You can delete your account at any time from inside the app (Parent dashboard → Delete Account), which removes your and your children's personal data from our systems — except limited records we must keep to comply with law (for example, tax or transaction records) or to resolve disputes.
10. Security
We protect personal information using encryption in transit, access controls, and reputable infrastructure providers. No system is perfectly secure, but we work hard to protect your data and will notify you and the relevant authorities of a personal data breach where the law requires.
11. Your rights & choices
Depending on where you live, you (on behalf of your child) may have the right to access the information we hold, correct it, delete it, restrict or object to its processing, receive a portable copy, and withdraw consent at any time. You can exercise most of these directly in the app — edit or delete a child profile, or delete your whole account — or by emailing contactus@sketchopia.co. We will respond within the time required by your local law. You also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.
12. Region-specific information
United States (COPPA & California)
Sketchopia is a child-directed service. We obtain verifiable parental consent (the parent creates and controls the account) before collecting a child's personal information, collect only what is reasonably necessary, and give parents the right to review or delete their child's information and to refuse further collection — contact contactus@sketchopia.co. We do not sell children's data. For California residents, we do not “sell” or “share” personal information as those terms are defined under the CCPA/CPRA, and we do not knowingly do so for anyone under 16.
European Economic Area & United Kingdom (GDPR / UK GDPR / Children's Code)
We process personal data on the legal bases described above, follow the principles of data minimisation and the best interests of the child, and honour your data-subject rights. You can reach our privacy contact at contactus@sketchopia.co and you may lodge a complaint with your supervisory authority (for example, the UK Information Commissioner's Office).
India (Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023)
We process children's data with verifiable parental consent, do not undertake tracking, behavioural monitoring or targeted advertising directed at children, and do not process children's data in a way likely to cause harm to their well-being. Our grievance contact is contactus@sketchopia.co.
Brazil (LGPD)
We process children's personal data in their best interest, with the consent of a parent or guardian, on the legal bases described above. You may contact us about your rights or to reach our data protection officer at contactus@sketchopia.co.
Canada (PIPEDA), Australia (Privacy Act / APPs), Singapore (PDPA), United Arab Emirates (PDPL) and Saudi Arabia (PDPL)
We collect and use personal information only with consent and for the purposes described in this policy, keep it secure, and honour access, correction and withdrawal requests. For any privacy request, contact contactus@sketchopia.co.
13. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the new version here with a new “Effective” date and, for material changes, take additional steps (such as notifying you in the app) where required by law.
